Hey there!

I'm Jana Abumeri

I'm a software developer in Orange County, CA. I have dabbled in testing automation, quality assurance, and full-stack development.

At the same time, I'm trying to dip my toes in design. I recently graduated with a Masters in Human Computer Interaction and Design at the University of California, Irvine. We learned a lot of about good design and user research and I loved it.

Basically, all you need to know about me is that I like to build things and make them look pretty, in hopes that people (i.e. you) will want to use them.

My Career so far

I graduated from the University of California, Irvine in June 2017 with a degree in Software Engineering. My latest gig is a software developer role at CoStar Group, specifically working on Apartments.com. Before that, I worked at the portfolio management firm Rimrock Capital Management, LLC. as a software developer and automation engineer.

In September 2020, I graduated from UCI with a Masters in Human Computer Interaction and Design. My goal was to learn about design and research as much as possible from a single unified source. It ended up being one of the best things I could have done for myself and I had a great year, made some great friends, and worked on a lot of cool things. And learned A LOT. Feelin' really lucky.

2020 was a long year to say the least. A bit ago I wrote a Medium article about something very close and dear to my heart (the blast that happened in Lebanon in August) and how our software needs to be crisis-state ready. Take a read sometime.
